Hello all.
New here to the Topless forum, been a regular lurker to the Vortex for a while.
Finally got around to taking some pics of the twins the other day. The nice one (hers) is bone stock, while the ugly (mine) is undergoing some gene splicing with my old 82 Scirocco. So far it's ot a set of H&R springs and some late(r) model 14's. My new black top has arrived from Cabrioworld (thanks Kammy for the group buy link), and the start of a complete blackout treatment will begin shortly...

I had to go out and make sure my top was still there. The top on your car has identical "laugh lines" as mine.

Thanks for the nice greetings! You've got a nice site here. My name's the same on the Vortex, I spent some time on the Scirocco list for a while as well. Just a few post on each as I was getting down the learning curve for these little buggers.
I've developed quite a fondness for them (leaks and all). They're built "well", with no wasteful trimmings, but I'm scratching my head when the wiring comes into play...

Trust me, mine's u.g.l.y. You didn't see the interior! I'll be swapping my scirocco's interior (black/grey) into it shortly.

Thanks for the help with the images! Not sure what I did wrong, my wrenching is much better than my HTML! :oops:

Makeover on one of the twins.

So "Thing 1" got it's makeover. New top, primed black (rat rod style), and Scirocco seats plus retrofitted skins from the rear.

Of course, since I'm male (Go ahead Kammy, have at it...) I had to have a set of Konig Theory rims with a fresh set of 18560R14's. Now I need to get a fresh ball joint...

Opinion poll: Should I follow through and paint it gloss black, or go old skool with satin black/flames? :twisted: The Missus says gloss black, so it's prolly gonna be that... :wink:

Welp, Looks great so far, but I think I'm with the Misus, gloss black. Then again, I'm partial/bias as my rocco is gloss black, :D

OK, Gloss Black it is! Why is it the Missus is always right?!?!

"Old Skool Flames" is definitely not the cabby way, but I (briefly) thought of givivng it a try. Always liked being different. Maybe the Chrysler....

I had replied last night, but it never posted. Hmmm. I was prolly too far gone to notice... friends came back from the Bahamas with local rum and a couple of hand rolled tobacco products originating from an island nation off the coast of Florida! mmmm, I still stink! :lol:

Kammy, I did get the top from the group buy at Cabrioworld. And I think it was from a link on your sig from the Vortex. (I may have been mistaken, though who could forget those "garage pinup" pics! :shock: :wink: :P )
