Just found your site and looking for ideas and hints on keeping my cabby running. Its a 93 cabriolet collectors edition. One day, I would like to do some big mods. I do like attending VW shows. I live in NW florida.

Welcome to the site.
To keep the car running, first off, if you plan on doing the work yourself, get a Bentley manual for the car. Bentley is the publisher that puts it out and it's the same manual used at the dealerships for many things. They can be pricey, but you can sometimes find them on E-bay for cheaper.
Aside from that, learn the car's feel and sounds, this way, you can learn to anticipate a pending problem. Oil changes, plugs, filters and such go a long way in keeping these cars happy.
As for mods, well, that's always something that is in the eye of the beholder. Anything goes so long as you like it.
