Forum Speed Increase

Some of you might notice a increase in the orum speed. How can this be? I finally found what database tables where hogging up space and reduced the DB size from roughly 30mb to just a hair over 5mb.

Bring on the speed :P

William,

I couldn't help but notice tonight, the forums are very snappy indeed, pages load very fast, dial up users should love it too.
A wish here, that all commercial sites with product other than entertainment or media, their sites should be as snappy.

An example, http://transitions.com . I was out of town, very rare for me was TV, I really don't watch it. Saw an ad for transitions sunglasses, thought I'd check their site. On dial up. Just now on DSL, it took about 30 seconds for the 1st page, just so I could pick the next page. On the dial up connection, I gave up as the 2nd page was loading and loading. What are those pro web designers thinking? It appears they are making product info as difficult to find just so they can show their flash skills. :banghead:

Speed thrills, indeed it does.

Many sales sites are indeed going to flash and other animated content delivery systems. With the US approching 50% or more of the population on some sort of broadband, the masses demand flashy sites. I still prefer simple and quick.

That and it helps that I don't know how to make anything in flash. :P
