I have an upper strees bar that I got off of my donor A2 Jetta and I am going to trim it down on the parts that encircle the strut tops and it will work for me however I am pretty sure that the strut bar is off of some other car that is not a VW. Plus I have adjustments on both ends along with the middle and they are all the way in. This is how I was able to get mine to work. However as for a fixed bar with no adjustments it will not work. Sorry. Plus it sounds like your luck is just as good as mine.
