It has begun!

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

What started as a simple change of the valve cover gasket has evolved into new head gasket, motor mounts, timing belt, valve rings, etc, etc, etc,.
Hubby and daughter are outside now tearing it all apart. Head goes to the shop on Monday. Goal is to reassemble next weekend. Please keep your fingers
crossed it all goes accordin to plan!

And please stay tuned. I may be back in a panic begging for advice!

Big hint, Latex gloves, but Playtex dishwasher glove work good to, they are just a little hotter...
LAVA, GOOP with Pumice and a fingernail brush are gonna be your friend.

Yes as matter of fact, I have the Luck o'the Irish...everything I touch turns to fertilizer of the bovine variety.

Yep, I can see all of those in our future. :D Used lots of latex gloves today. Head is out and goes to shop tomorrow. Major parts ordered and already on the way. Will have to source some things like motor mounts and rings locally. This has become a much bigger job than I orginally had planned for.

Major understatement, and that is how it rolls on a "new-to-you" car.
