Hey 84GTI, I have the same mount on my 84. If you will look at my post 84 Rebuild there are some pictures of the mount both off and on. I want to say there are 2 bolts that go from the bottom of the mount to the block. Yours has that cut out that may have been to get to the alternator bolt easier and also an extra hole drilled in it.
