Windows stuck in the upright position

Post by wasabi pea 2001 »

I have a 2001 GLX. The passenger side has always been stuck, but now the driver's is gone too (with an inch of space)! I looked at a couple of places online for a motor..OMG  ...not cheap. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced website? And if I do spring for the motor(s), how hard is it to install? I'm pretty handy and I have a Haynes repair manual & it seems straight forward....but..... :?

Any insight would be grateful!

If you are absolutely sure that it is the motor that has burned out your best bet is to go used-the usual places, Ebay, even Vortex classifieds for a totalled unit.
Have you opened up the cards to inspect the mechanics or look for loose connections?

I would take the door cardsoff and jumper 12v to the motor directly to rule out everything else.

Or at least measurethe voltage at the motor to verify that alll the switches and crap work.
