Luggage compartment light?

Post by gull »

Forgive me for posting an RTFM sort of question, but I don't have an owner's manual for this car yet.

'89 Cabriolet...I notice there's a pin switch on the trunk lid. Is there supposed to be a light in there? If so, where is it? I tried to trace out the wiring but it disappears into a loom.

It should be on the left side of the trunk in the cardboard wall material. You can see it in this pic just above my remote mount battery box. The small clear rectangle.

Yes the light is only supposed to work when the trunk is open AND the lights are on.

Ah, no wonder I couldn't find it. It's presumably now located wherever that cardboard piece has disappeared to. ;)

You can re-wire that pin switch to the Brake lights then you will have power any time you open the trunk.... it an OH by the way fix.
