I think he meant take out the spare tire, and put the extra tank there, for a "two-tank" SVO system.

I love mine already. I just think, from a chassis dynamics standpoint, it doesn't stack up to modern cars. There's quite a bit of cowl shake, for example. That doesn't matter that much to me, but it's the sort of thing I'd expect to see pointed out in a review.

I gotta say I love that blue metallic color. Every other Cabriolet I looked at was red, white, or black.

My headliner is unfortunately shot, too. Slashed to ribbons by the person who broke into the car.

My '89 Wolfsburg Edition

http://www.gull.us/misc/cabriolet-small.jpg That picture was taken right after I bought it. Since then, I've had new engine mounts, front seals, and a timing belt installed, put in a new antenna, had new tires put on, and fixed the HVAC controls. I also bought a boot for it on eBay. It still needs ...

Car & Driver review?

The Cabriolet FAQ website has a nice quote by Car & Driver about the VW Rabbit Convertible. Does anyone have a copy of the complete review? I'm curious what they had to say about the car. I have my own observations, some complimentary, some not, but I'm comparing it to modern cars, not what was ...

If you don't find the answers you need here, you might try the Audi-VW Diesels Yahoo Group. They know diesels, and there are people there who have done diesel swaps into various vehicles.

3. Yes.
4. No.
5. All cables.
6. Could buy just about any time, would like to have it by June-ish, when I can take a weekend to do the job and be reasonably sure it won't rain.

...you'll want to reuse the rear cable if you can, since it's like $100 (or $5 if you make your own at a hardware store like i did since mine was rusted through =] ) I keep hearing references to the rear cable being $100, but CabrioWorld lists them at $38 . Am I missing something here? For $38 it s...

Ah, no wonder I couldn't find it. It's presumably now located wherever that cardboard piece has disappeared to. ;)

Luggage compartment light?

Forgive me for posting an RTFM sort of question, but I don't have an owner's manual for this car yet.

'89 Cabriolet...I notice there's a pin switch on the trunk lid. Is there supposed to be a light in there? If so, where is it? I tried to trace out the wiring but it disappears into a loom.
