Re: New Radio Install

Ok I tried a new key and some tri flow but the ignition switch didn't friken work. It still works when I push in the key but when I release the pressure it goes off. So it must be the ignition switch. The pressure sensor you talk of must be the problem. So how do I go about changing the ignition swi...

The trouble is when I remove the pressure from pushing the key in the radio it goes off as does the chime. Funny thing about this is befo...

Re: How to relace a front strut or mount

Wow Thanks for the write up and pictures. I have what you fixed so I'm headed that way. I'll go with the stock struts since it sounds like the way to go.

You guys are a world of help.

Thanks again,

Additional interior entry lights

This old guy loves his Green Cabbie but sure would like some additional entry lights at night. The small light above the mirror works but more light for these eyes would be great . Has anyone installed additional entry lights that light up the floors ? Or replaced the existing light with a better on...

What about tires?

:?: I need new tires for my 1993 vw cab and wonder what others have experienced as a good value tire? I live in Colorado so mountains, snow, are to be considered. I see Michelin would break my bank but the others from Toyo, General, Contiental (Sp?), Big O , etc have lower cost tires. Highway drivin...

Re: A/C troubleshooting

So I understand now how the ac relay works and how to get power to it. I still can't get over 70 degree air into the center vent. I have added gas up to the 45 psi mark on the low pressure side but fear not to go any further based on red lines on the meter and advice to not exceed the 50 psi mark as...

Re: A/C troubleshooting

If I thought I was done I wasn't!!! I traced the supply side wire of S23 out to the battery and to make this project even more perplexing , the wire was connected to the negative terminal of the battery. I am the 4 th or 5th owner of this car. So no telling how long it has been like that. So I toned...

Re: A/C troubleshooting

Good news yesterday the Hi Speed Blower fan came on and the clutch on the compressor. I installed another wire from the supply side of the S23 fuse to the battery and it worked. Really I jumpered around the outside of the car to see if it would work and it did. So now I need to install it thru the w...

Re: A/C troubleshooting

You are on it. I just checked the power to H3 from the S23 fuse . No power on either side. I turn the key on and I still get no power. How the :screwy: am I going to find where this wire is grounded? I lose the supply side red wire when it disappears into the wire bundles. Does it go all the way to ...

Re: A/C troubleshooting

Thanks for all the info. This morning I put the relay thru the truth table and it passed. I was hoping it wouldn't so I could replace the relay and start putting it back together. You mentioned that the I need to verify h1 , h4 and h6 are not grounded. How would I do that? Pull the plug off the rela...
