Re: Cooling Fan Hookup

Thanks for the replies. The fan only comes when I have it connected to the left 2 male connectors on the fan. Which seems to be hide speed. It turns on when the temp gets past the little temp lite and off with the car so I think it is fine. Interesting side note. I have noticed my car idles low and ...

The place I bought it from said it is diff because I have AC. I have removed the entire AC system from the car. They told me there is an adapter I need ...

Stalling?

Hi All, My vw started stalling when I push the clutch in. Restarts right away and drives fine. But as soon as I push in the clutch the idle drops and it stalls. Only other symptom I noticed is sometimes if I floor it it will start to stutter and then pick back up. Otherwise I can drive 75MPH all day...

Thanks for that pic! Then I have a thin green wire I thought went to the lower stud? Do the blue and green
both go there?

Re: Remove Crankshaft Pully Belt on 85 Cabby

Well that answers those questions! Maybe I'll just leave the top timing belt cover off. Next question if you don't mind. My alternator has the red positive cable and there is also a smaller blue wire coming out of the cable tunnel that is not attached to the alternator. What is it and should it go t...

Re: Remove Crankshaft Pully Belt on 85 Cabby

2 questions: Do you need the timing cover top piece on?
And what is this below the waterpump?

Thx!

Re: Remove Crankshaft Pully Belt on 85 Cabby

My pulley seems diff from yours. There is no way it will extend far enuf to have good alignment with washers and still engage the key to turn the shaft. I guess I will need to order the pully from toywagen. Bummer, was hoping to finish this today. Anyway, thanks for great pics. They helped alot. Tak...

Re: Remove Crankshaft Pully Belt on 85 Cabby

The A/C does not work anyway, I am only replacing belt cause its squealing. Maybe I should just figure out where to get a part to bypass it entirely.

Re: Remove Crankshaft Pully Belt on 85 Cabby

Well I cut the AC belt off. I don't see how you slip the new one onto the pull w/o removing the crankshaft belt.??
